The equipment which is used horizontally in the ferroconcrete colons and girders is called “etriye”. It is an equipment which is bent according to the cross-section of the element in which it is placed to form a rat or a rod in the shape of a rectangle, a square, a polygon or a circle.
First of all, etriye, which is a very necessary and indispensible element in the process of the fitting and placement of the equipment cage into the moist concrete, provides the stability in the concrete. Etriye is also necessary in order to raise the local resistance of the bending equipment against being bent. Etriye, when used frequently, works like a brace (banding), and it raises not only the cutting resistance but also bending resistance of the ferroconcrete element as well. It provides the elements with greater flexibility to change its shape; and supplies continuity of elements and constructions. |
